Spaix V3 - Overview Functionalities

Spaix V3 is the selection, configuration and supply system for your website. Spaix can be used for the detailed technical selection and configuration of almost all types of centrifugal pumps and their special constructional features. The user interface can be individually adjusted for each pump in order to clearly show the options available and to hide superfluous or non-applicable information.

The pump selection program consists of the Hydraulic Selection via the area of application, the duty point and additional parameters, the Product Selection Browser as a direct access by series and pump type as well as the Spare-Parts Selection from part lists or drawings.

Pump Selection

The selection system links detailed product data with well thought-through selection and calculation methods. The user can choose between several selection paths like duty point, area of application, application limits or product name. All information and selection parameters can of course be customised to a certain product portfolio using the data maintenance program.

The software supports all common ways of duty point adjustment and performance curve calculation. Just to name two examples: a selection for high viscous media is just as easily done as the performance chart calculation for frequency converter-controlled aggregates. All necessary components, besides the main hydraulic selection, are selected considering the application conditions.

The materials are selected from a resistance table to fit the selected medium. Also considered are complex selection algorithms like those used for pumps with magnetic drives, submersible pumps or performance curve correction according to motor performance.

Product Configurator

The product configurator helps with the selection of available options for complex products. Every single component of the pumping system like hydraulic, materials, shaft seal, motor, coupling or base plate is selected by combination of technical selection and logical allocation. Data-controlled configuration rules and application limits guarantee the configurator’s flexible structure.

The effort for creating the database is minimised by supplementing special pump-related selection rules. This makes it possible to offer the entire product portfolio and at the same time exclude unavailable configurations. It is possible to have a clear allocation of components for the final aggregate as well as a modular system composed of single components.

The product configurator and the PumpSelector form a unit. All important data can be viewed at just one glance because of the complete integration. Even during the selection process the available configuration options are displayed. This also makes an exact selection via price or life cycle costs possible. All information about the pump is updated directly in connection with the selected options and the change between selection results, technical data and configuration options.

The integrated program architecture provides a drastically higher operating speed than the competition can offer using a selection or configuration coming from third-party suppliers.

Price Calculation

The price can be calculated as total or based on the single price of each component. Combining the two methods, individual selection options can be grouped into module prices. Using the dynamic product codes, which reflect the selected components, the configuration is linked with the price table and - where applicable - with the item numbers.

Unique designators are thereby created and can be used for the integration of external programs, such as ERP systems. Spaix works with specific price sets based on user groups to facilitate, for example, easy administration and allocation of prices for different markets. Various currencies are supported and the conversion using exchange rates is optional.

Accessories Selection

The powerful accessories selection allows a precise selection of available parts connected to the pump configuration and the desired type of installation or control. The selection can be structured into different stages, e.g. Mechanical and electrical accessories.

Spare Parts Management

The spare parts catalogue allows the systematic selection of products considering different revisions. The selection of a desired part can be done directly from a sectional or exploded drawing by mouse click or it can be selected from the spare parts list. Alternatively, a spare part can directly be searched by name or item number. For an aggregate already configured, the spare parts lists matching the selection can immediately be determined by linking parts lists with options in the configurator.

Quotation Management

Adding manual positions or changing prices and text elements supplements the integrated quotation calculation. The selection results are displayed on detailed data sheets. Those can be individually designed to match the Corporate Design or technical demands. Changes to the data sheets are done with the graphic editor that is integrated in the database maintenance program.

Finally, adding general terms or delivery conditions can complement the quotation. With the help of a special connector the generated quotation results can be directly transferred to an ERP or CRM database. There, the information could be used for analyses and reporting tools. With the help of work flow rules they can also be used for automated procedures. In case you make the PumpSelector available to external users, they can submit a quotation request or send an order right from the system itself.

Analyzes

Spaix V3 users receive detailed analyzing tools for the pump selection and configuration to realize an in-depth product and user related quote analysis.

Availability

Spaix V3 is based on a scalable server technology like Windows Server and Microsoft SQL server and thus it offers high availability and maximum protection for your company data.

Data Maintenance Program

Spaix Database has a graphic user interface for the maintenance of all data. The software is endowed with multiple ways to influence the functions of the selection program. This way, the data administrator decides which program parts will be made available for which product and which user. The modular concept ensures minimum data redundancy and the possibility to display different product structures. Functions like multiple selection and drag-and-drop ease the administration of large amounts of data. Parameters for several pumps can be changed at once without opening each data record individually.

By digitalising performance curve data sheets even scanned information can be made available for the use in the software. Standardised interfaces make data entry easy and provide investment security.
